What ASYV Means
In 2019, I had the privilege of working at Agahozo Shalom Youth Village, a high school that provides care for over 500 of the most vulnerable teenagers in Rwanda. My responsibilities included capturing the everyday life of our community through photography and videography, as well as teaching these skills to students.
In addition to these tasks, I was also responsible for leading the creation of videos to raise visibility with donors. The videos I created reached large audiences worldwide and had a significant impact. For example, the video shown above was the key piece in a fundraising event that raised over 180,000 USD. Another video I created was reposted by the Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project.
Working with the Agahozo Shalom Youth Village was a meaningful experience, and I am proud to have contributed to their efforts in providing care and education to vulnerable teenagers in Rwanda.
