Hola, soy David
I own a creative and curious mind that loves to tell stories. From creating VFX for Adidas to teaching filmmaking in a school in Rwanda or hitchhiking for several weeks in Iceland, my passion for exploring and finding new creative challenges is my main drive in life. Putting my soul and my obsession for details into every single project is what keeps my aesthetic fresh and authentic.
Proud jack of all trades
– So you are a photographer, right?
– Well… yeah, but for many years I worked doing visual effects for documentaries and before that I studied fine arts and had a couple of exhibitions, but actually some days ago I thought it would be cool to turn a calculator and old camera into a slave optical flash so I took all the pieces apart, I weld the tiny solar panel with— em… yes, I’m mainly a photographer.
A jack of all trades, a polymath, a multipotentialite, a scanner… you pick the term you prefer the most, they all describe me pretty well and they can all make people feel a bit nervous. Truth is that I find the world so rich, diverse, and fascinating that I don’t see any reason why I should settle down for just one career. It’s like entering to the biggest ice cream factory and having to pick only one flavor for eternity. That’s a nightmare for me! So, yes, I’m a photographer, but I have also studied drama for several years and performed in front of large audiences, I have fixed lenses, cameras, computers, and I have even designed and coded the website you are now visiting.
The sum of all these rares skills are what makes me, me. I tap into my acting experience when I have to lead a team or speak in public, and I remember how a camera looks like on the inside when I need to explain what’s going wrong to a technician. What I enjoy the most is combining all these skills into a single project, make crazy connections between seemingly unrelated subjects and come up with out-of-the-box ideas.
Why Inner Light Leaks?
It’s a bit cheesy…
When an unexpected ray of light finds its way into a camera and reaches the film, it leaves a mark on the photo known as a light leak. That ray of light was able to find a crack somewhere and express itself. I think that’s cool. I believe a similar kind of light lives within every story, waiting to be seen, and my mission as a storyteller is to find that light and allow myself to be that channel, that crack, through which the essence of the story finds its way into this world.
Say hi!
